Road Trip 2017 – Butchart Gardens: Flowers, Fountains & Paths

There are so many beautiful public gardens in the world. Keukenhopf. Monet’s Giverny. Versaille. But, I would have to put Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, Canada, as the best I have ever seen. They are the best if only for the variety of plantings and the amazing settings in which they are displayed.

If you find yourself strolling through the gardens, one word of advice (other than bringing a good camera!) is that you should be sure to not miss a single path…no matter how small. Every corner of this vast garden is dedicated to perfection. And you really wouldn’t want to miss anything. There is a huge rose garden with varieties from around the world, a sunken garden that can be viewed from above, a dancing fountain, a Japanese garden and an Italian garden…just to name a few.

So, here are some photos from my day in the gardens.

And other pretty things:

Even the trash cans wear pretty flowers.

Enjoy and thanks for coming on the trip with me!

Next post we are in Jasper National Park, a truly Amazing place!
